Centre May Shutdown MTNL And Plans To Switch Its Ops To BSNL: The central government has planned to shut the Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) and its operation & staff will be switched to the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) says the report. The report also states that this news was intimated by the officials of the company, anonymously.
MTNL has come under the Department of Telecommunication, Ministry of Communication which was stuck in a serious dept of 40,000 crores and this is difficult to revive, so the government may plan to shut its operation says the report.
The government also taking steps to delist MTNL from stock exchanges, for this the total estimation has to be evaluated which will be done as soon as possible. The officials also state that the merging of MTNL and BSNL may also cause serious damage to BSNL profits. In recent times BSNL is making considerable profits when compared to the past two years.
As the company is also focusing to build its 5G services across the country and recently it has brought updated to 4G tech pieces of equipment. This switching operation of MTNL is not officially released by the Ministry, but according to the report it may announced soon.
