Good News for Central Govt Employees – DA Hike in January! This Time up to 4%? It has been reported that the central government employees who got a 4 percent dearness hike last month will get the dearness allowance again in the coming new year. At present, Central Government employees and pensioners are getting 38 percent Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR). Following this, the central government is planning to increase DA and DR in the coming year.
As per the AICPI index, there is expected to be a significant increase in DA in January 2023. Accordingly, as the AICPI index has increased again, this time the central government employees can get a 4 percent salary hike. If it happens the central government employees get a 4 percent increase in the DA, and the overall 42 percent will be available.

Under this hike, basic salary employees will get an increase of Rs.720. And they can get Rs.8,640 per annum. Similarly, central government employees who get a basic salary of Rs.56,900 will see a hike of Rs.23,898 as per the new DA rate of 42 percent.
