Good News for Central Govt Employees – Non-productivity Bonus! Check the Details!! Last month, a 4 percent hike was announced as a Diwali gift for central government employees. Following this, the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced non-productive or linked bonuses to employees. Accordingly, it announced a temporary bonus i.e. bonus equivalent to 30 days of payment for the financial year 2021–2022.

In a notification issued in early October in this regard, the Department of Expenditure of the Finance Ministry explained that the incentive will be given to all Group B non-government employees and Group C Central Government employees who are not eligible for this productivity-linked incentive scheme. The monthly pay calculation for these non-productive bonuses will be a maximum of Rs.7,000. It can be availed by eligible members of the Central Paramilitary Forces and Armed Forces.

Similarly, UT administrative employees who adhere to the central government pay scale and are not included in any incentive or benevolence schemes will also get bonuses. The bonus amount is determined by the employee’s qualifying period and the number of months of service. And eligible employees receive pro-rated compensation for consecutive periods of service ranging from six months to a full year.
