PM Modi To Meet Education Minister Today, The government has cancelled CBSE Board exams for Class 10th and postponed the 12th exams till May 30. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has scheduled a meeting with the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokkriyal ‘Nishank’, Secretary and other important officials today at 12 noon to discuss the issue of CBSE board exams for Classes 10 and 12 students.
- Class 10 and 12 exams are Postponed. A call on the examination may be taken in the meeting to be chaired by the prime minister.
- The demand cancellation of upcoming board exams for class 10 Cancel of the rise in Covid-19 cases even as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) said it has not taken any decision yet in this regard.
- CBSE officials have denied any change in plan “yet” and again saying that the arrangements are being made to ensure social distancing by increasing examination centres by over 50 per cent. A senior board official has said that the exams cannot be cancelled as these are subjective exams that are crucial in nature and cannot be conducted online. The official added that the exam centres have been increased and all COVID protocols will be followed strictly.
- Six lakh students in the city will appear for board exams. One lakh teachers will be on duty. Conducting board exams can lead to large scale spread of coronavirus… alternative methods of assessment can be explored. Students can be promoted on basis of either online exams or internal assessment. The board exams should be cancelled said by Kejriwal.
