BT Plans To Slash 55,000 Jobs By 2030: Britain’s most famous broadband and mobile provider, British Telecom (BT) has planned to cut nearly 55,000 jobs by the end of 2023. This is almost 40% of its total workforce. According to the report, this would also impact contract workers as well as other employees in various sectors.

The company has finished its fiber installation project and also planned to adopt new technology like AI (Artificial Intelligence), delegates are expected this is the reason for the announcement of the job cuts as the company is focusing to improve its business with less number of employees with the help for AI techs.

The company installed a national fiber network under the CEO of BT Group Mr. Philip Jansen and planned to roll out high-speed 5G services. The report also states that the company will reduce the number of workers from 1,30,000 to between 90,000 to 75,000 by 2023. BT’s rival company Vodafone also recently announced that the company would lay off 11,000 employees worldwide to restore its competitiveness.
