There are two stages of the hiring process for this job. Candidates involved in working for BHEL as a Supervisor Trainee must pass all stages to be eligible for a place on the merit list.
Stage I: Computer Based Examination: Candidates will be shortlisted for Group Discussions in order of merit in a ratio of 1:5 to the amount of vacancies in each Division depending on their Test Marks and criteria. Candidates who are physically challenged would be given up to a 20% reduction in the cut-off marks in their respective groups if they are shortlisted for Group Discussions.
For short listing in the 1:5 ratio, all UR candidates, as well as those from the reserved groups (i.e. EWS, OBC, SC, ST) who do not apply for any relief, will be grouped together and then arranged in descending order of merit of their Test marks (marks out of 100) and candidates will be named for Party Discussions in the 1:5 ratio in the UR division.
Candidates from the EWS/OBC/SC/ST groups who are not shortlisted for Group Discussions in the UR division will be regrouped with their respective categories for further consideration, and candidates will be named for Group Discussions in their respective categories in a 1:5 ratio. Group Discussion will be held with all candidates who obtained the same cut-off points in their respective categories.
Stage II: Group Discussions: The second stage of the screening process is group discussions. Topics for group discussion will be Current Financial Issues and/or qualifying subject matter. To be eligible for placement on the merit list, all applicants shortlisted for the Group Discussions Stage must attend and complete this stage of the selection process. The only qualifying stage would be the group discussions. Candidates with a score of more than 50% in Group Discussions would be considered qualified.
The final merit list will be completely based on test Ranking. Applicants who attended the Group Discussions will be listed on the merit list in the order in which their Exam Results are produced.
