About BFUHS:

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences was established under an Act passed by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in July, 1998. The mission of the University is to create an intellectual, academic and physical environment, conducive to free flow of ideas and exchange of information between various faculties of the University and between this University and other Universities of Health Sciences in the country and abroad, thereby opening a window to the world for the health professionals, health planners, health managers, biomedical and social scientists and educators in health sciences of the country. Established in the memory of great Sufi Saint Baba Farid by Punjab govt. in July, 1998 by an Act of the State Legislature. Fifth of its kind in India, First in Northern India- Punjab Govt. deserves the credit of establishing it. Due to inadequacy of health professionals(in quantity & quality) the need was imminent. Such a University is expected to be a ‘Pace-setter’ – in developing appropriate modes & models of Health Care. University committed to providing Community oriented needs-based education & Training programmes for Health professionals.

• The Eligibility Criteria for Professor Post is experience of teaching for a minimum period of ten years after completion of Post Graduation, which shall include three years experience as Reader or Associate Professor and four years experience as Assistant Professor in the concerned specialty in a recognized Post Graduate Medical College and three years as Senior Resident or Registrar or Lecturer or Demonstrator or Tutor or equivalent or higher teaching faculty posts in the concerned specialty in a recognized Medical College and publications of four Research Publications (Published or accepted) to their credit, including two publications as first author or corresponding author as Reader or Associate Professor in PubMed or Excerpta Medica or Embased Medica or Index Medicus Journals
• The Eligibility Criteria for Associate Professor Post is experience of teaching for a minimum period of seven years after completion of Post Graduation, which shall include four years experience as Assistant Professor in the concerned specialty in recognized Post Graduate Advt. No 06 of 2021 Medical College and three years as Senior Resident or Registrar or Lecturer or Demonstrator or Tutor or equivalent or higher teaching faculty posts in the concerned specialty in a recognized Medical College and publications of two Research Publications (published or accepted) to their credit, including two publications as first author or corresponding author as Assistant Professor in PubMed or Excerpta Medica or Embased Medica or Index Medicus Journals
• The Eligibility Criteria for Assistant Professor Post is experience of teaching for a minimum period of three years as Senior Resident or Registrar or Lecturer or Demonstrator or Tutor or equivalent or higher teaching faculty posts in the concerned specialty in a recognized Medical College. The candidates who have done super-speciality (DM/M.Ch) in concerned specialty shall be directly eligible for post Assistant Professor. The Candidate who has done DNB, which fulfills the equivalence criteria of National Medical Commission for MD/MS/DM/M.Ch, shall be considered as meeting the post graduation qualification.
• The Eligibility Criteria for Director Post is MD (Radiotherapy) from a recognized institution by National Medical Commission of India, Professor with minimum 05 years teaching experience alongwith headship of a Medical College/Department and Professor (Retd) in the relevant field shall be preferred.

* For posts Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor/Director Candidate must have knowledge of Punjabi language up to matriculation standard or equivalent and in case he does not, must acquire the same within six month of joining.
