BARC OCES DGFS 2022 Age Limit:
The age of the aspirants should below the upper age limit as mentioned with respect to the category of the candidates as follows. Further relaxation will be provided for the PwD and other eligible candidates as per norms.
- General Category – 26 years,
- OBC – 29 years,
- SC/ST – 31 years
BARC OCES DGFS 2022 Qualification:
There are many disciplines are available for this recruitment. Based on the disciplines, the qualification will change as mentioned below. However, all candidates should possess the relevant educational qualification to be eligible. At the same time those having M.Sc (by research) or Ph.D. are not eligible for this notification.
- For Engineering Disciplines- E. / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) / 5-year Integrated M.Tech. with minimum percentage as mentioned on the notification.
- For Physics Discipline – Sc in Physics / Applied Physics with Physics and Mathematics at B.Sc / BE / B.Tech or at subsidiary and/or ancillary level in case of 5-year integrated M.Sc or B.E./ B.Tech / Integrated M.Tech in relevant field
- For Chemistry Discipline – Sc in Chemistry with Physics up to B.Sc or at subsidiary and / or ancillary level in case of 5-year integrated M.Sc and Mathematics at Std. XII or at B.Sc or at subsidiary and / or ancillary level in case of 5-year integrated M.Sc, with a minimum percentage as mentioned on the notification.
- For Radiological Safety & Environmental Science – E. / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) / 5-year Integrated M.Tech in Nuclear Engineering / Nuclear Technology / Nuclear Science & Technology with minimum percentage as mentioned on the notification.
- For Geology Discipline – Sc or equivalent M.Tech in Geology / Applied Geology / Applied Geochemistry with Geology at B.Sc or at subsidiary and / or ancillary level in case of 5-year integrated M.Sc or 5-year integrated M.Tech. in Geological Technology.
BARC OCES DGFS 2022 Application Fee:
The aspirants need to pay the application fee of Rs.500. This fee is chargeable from the male applicants belonging to General and OBC categories. Woman candidates, candidates belonging to SC/ST, candidates belonging to transgender, Dependents of Defence Personnel Killed in Action and Physically Challenged candidates are exempted from payment of Application Fee.

BARC Scientific Officer Salary:
- The aspirants who will be selected for these courses will get the stipend and allowances during Training. OCES TSOs and DGFS Fellows are paid a stipend of Rs. 55,000 per month during the period of their Training. After the training, appointment in all the units shall be as a Scientific Officer “C‟ (SO/C) in the Level 10 – Rs.56,100 of the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix.
- They are also eligible for the Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance and Transport Allowance (will be approximately ₹ Rs.1,05,000/-) after the placement.
BARC Selection Process:
The applicants will be subjected to the screening process for the interview that is nothing but “Online Exam” (or) GATE score. Yes. There are two ways of screening process. They are mentioned below. Only shortlisted candidates will be subjected to the interview.
- Screening Process (1)- Online Test: The online examination will be conducted in April, 2022 in each of the nine Engineering disciplines (Codes 21 – 29) and three Science disciplines.
- Screening Process (1)- GATE Score: Candidates will be screened in for Selection Interview on the basis of a valid GATE-2021 or GATE-2022 score in the applicable GATE subject.
Candidates can choose any one or both of the above screening options. After the selection process, eligible candidates will be allowed to the OCES/ DGFS 2022 that means Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates (OCES) and DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates and Physics Postgraduates (DGFS). Successful completion of the Training Schemes guarantees employment as Scientific Officer “C‟ in one of the DAE units or Atomic Energy Regulatory Board.
The aspirants who successfully complete the Training Program and whose performance meets a minimum eligibility criterion are allowed to enroll for M.Tech in Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI).
