AP School Teachers are Asked to do Only Academic Work – Other Duties Prohibited!! The Andhra Pradesh state government has announced to stop the hiring of teachers for non-academic purposes under the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act. Accordingly, it has been informed that the teachers will now only be able to engage in learning activities and will be released from election work and census work.
Commissioner of School Education S. Suresh Kumar said that under Section 27 of the Right to Education Act, 2009, the use of teachers for non-academic purposes is prohibited. He said that amendments have been made to strengthen the RTE Act for this. Under this notification, the teachers have been asked to focus on academic activities for the students and make academic progress.
Regarding this, the education department sources said that this action was taken to correct the learning disabilities found among the students in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Also, the state government is taking steps to provide digital education to school students.
