Despite any Financial Burden, KG Classes in Government schools will continue As well!!! DMK Minister’s Vow.LKG and UKG would continue to be offered in State-run schools, the Tamil Nadu government announced last week.

Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, the school education minister, stated in the statement that there are currently 2,381 government elementary and intermediate schools offering LKG and UKG programmes.

He emphasised that the previous administration had created kindergarten classes because there were excess teachers available at the time due to the low student enrollment in government schools.”However, effective measures taken by the current government have resulted in more than 7 lakh students being admitted in the government schools and due to the establishment of additional 3,000 classrooms,” he said, adding that as the demand for teachers has increased, the staff who previously taught LKG and UKG have been sent to teach Classes 1 to 5.

The chief minister has suggested that LKG and UKG courses will continue to function in government schools, and for that necessary instructors would be engaged, the minister said, adding that the government has also taken steps to give continuing education in Anganwadicentres.
