The Tamil Nadu government on Monday ordered all colleges, universities and deemed universities to conduct only online classes from March 23 due to rising Covid-19 cases in the state. An order issued by chief secretary Rajeev Ranjan said colleges should complete all practical classes and practical exams before March 31. They have been asked to conduct end semester exams only in online mode. In view of the recent spike in the number of Covid-19 cases, the chief secretary conducted a videoconference with vice-chancellors, director of public health and preventive medicine and other health officials.
