Andhra Pradesh CM Jegan: Police Recruitment Soon, and Weekly-Offs to be Implemented and Asks Police to Maintain Law and Order without Compromise. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister has said the state government has cleared previous government’s pending arrears of police personnel, increased honorarium for home guards, and recruited 16,000 women police. The recruitment notification will be available very soon he said.
The Chief Minister, who attended Police Commemoration Day at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) Stadium here on Thursday, recalled the sacrifices made by police and paid tributes to martyrs then initiate the recruitment oriented talk. He also provided financial help to the families of police martyrs and published a book about police sacrifices.

Week Off for AP Police Department:
- Andhra Pradesh, according to Jagan Mohan Reddy, is the only state that has implemented a weekly day-off scheme for police officers. However, due to the pandemic, it was unable to be deployed properly; however, when the number of Covid cases decreases, it will be restored.
- In the last year, 377 police officers around the country have died in the line of duty, with 11 from the state, he said.
- According to the police department, each family of a police officer who died as a result of Covid-19 would receive Rs 5 lakh, with a matching gift of Rs 5 lakh from the government. He also stated that he had instructed officials to offer immediate employment to a family member of a police officer who had died as a result of Coronavirus illness. He predicted that the application procedure for the compassionate post will be completed by November 30.
