Government Employees to be transferred??? Check the Sudden Decision taken by J&K Govt!!! In 2019, the central government approved the separation of Ladakh from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Since then Ladakh has been functioning as a separate UT. In this context, the Jammu and Kashmir government has issued new guidelines for deputing some government employees to Ladakh.
These guidelines state that orders for the transfer of teachers should be made only in April month. Further, proposals for posting and sending back employees to Ladakh will require approval under the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019. Eligibility of employees, interest, and convenience of the work should be considered while making these transfer proposals.
Now the employees who will be sent to Ladakh will work there for 2 years. It has been informed that employees who have visited Ladakh once and come back to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir will not be sent there again (except in the case of non-availability). Now employees with less than 2 years of working experience in J&K Union Territory will not be transferred to Ladakh.
If the transferred employees are physically sick or their family members are ill the transfer will be canceled with proper medical clearance. The guidelines state that employees going to Ladakh will be provided with incentives and placements according to their convenience (i.e. Leh and Kargil).
