CUET Score is Sufficient for Non-Christians in Higher Educational Institutions | Delhi High Court Order!! The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is an all-India level entrance exam for admission to Undergraduate, Integrated, Postgraduate, Diploma, and Certification courses and Research Programmes in 45 Central Universities of India. The candidates who clear this examination will get the opportunity to study in 45 Central Universities run by the Central Government.

This exam consists of various stages. In this situation, the High Court has ordered St. Stephen’s College to cancel the interview for non-Christian students. Namely, a bench comprising Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramaniam Prasad asked to issue a new procedure with revised rules, demanding that 100% weightage be given to the CUET exam. Accordingly, Stephen’s College has directed to follow the new rules for admission for the year 2022-23 laid down by Delhi University (DU).

Further, the Court held that the right conferred on a minority educational institution like St. Stephen under Article 30(1) is not absolute, and the State has the right to make regulations regarding the administration of minority institutions. Besides, the university has asked institutions to make admissions to general or unreserved seats based on CUET scores alone. However, these institutes have also said that they give 85% weightage to the entrance exam and 15% weightage to the interview.
