Currently, United Furniture Industries (UFI) has laid off 2700 employees. Information about this dismissal has been sent to the concerned employees through emails.
The move has created shock among the employees. Also, the laid-off employees are also unable to use the company’s medical insurance. Further, the dismissed employees have been requested to immediately return the relevant documents regarding the company’s equipment, inventory and delivery details. Doria Neal, a former UFI employee, has filed a lawsuit in US court against the sudden dismissal.
