While addressing the meeting, the Prime Minister said that 14,500 PM-SHRI schools will be set up across the country and construction of new schools and upgradation of existing schools will be undertaken. And the Central Government’s National Education Policy has transformed the education sector in recent years. Keeping this in mind, he assured that the next set of PM-SHRI schools will benefit lakhs of students across India.

In particular, PM-SHRI schools are said to have a modern transformational system of imparting education. It is reported that the focus will be on innovative, learning-centered teaching methods, modern technology, smart classrooms and modern infrastructure including sports. Earlier, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan received suggestions and feedback on the future basic model for setting up PM-SHRI schools in all states or union territories.
